Delicious and Healthy Bacon Avocado Caesar Salad Recipe!

We have combined some of our favorite Caesar salad components with a few extras so that every bite is just as delicious as the original, plus a whole lot more! I find this salad to be a true culinary delight due to its multitude of flavors and textures.

Delicious Bacon Avocado Caesar Salad!

  • 1 head Romaine lettuce, rinsed and chopped
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 avocado, cut into small cubes
  • ½ c. salad croutons
  • ½ c. shaved Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ to ½ c. Caesar salad dressing


  1. Prior to making salad, fry 4 slices of bacon until crispy. Drain grease, chop into
    bite-size pieces, and set aside.
  2. Chop Romaine lettuce and place in serving bowl.
  3. Add bacon pieces to the same serving bowl.
  4. Cube avocado and add to the serving bowl.
  5. Add croutons to serving bowl.
  6. Add shaved Parmesan to serving bowl.
  7. Drizzle salad with Caesar dressing.
  8. Gently toss salad to combine all ingredients, and enjoy!

  • Whenever I make Caesar salads, I always choose classic Romaine lettuce due to its crisp texture, sturdy leaves, and mild flavor. These qualities allow the dressing and toppings to shine through and are the perfect canvas upon which to display the dressing.

  • In my opinion, crumbled bacon with its savory, salty, smoky flavor, crisp texture, and savory softness is a great addition to Caesar salads due to the smoky and salty flavor that it provides. Using thick-cut, peppery bacon in this salad is a personal preference of mine, but you can use any type of bacon that you like in this salad.

  • As you would expect, avocados are a fantastic addition to this salad. They add a rich creamy texture to the salad, which complements the tanginess of the Caesar dressing as well as the smoky flavor of the bacon. It is up to you, based on your taste, to decide whether you want to slice or dice the avocado.

  • Taking into consideration that Caesar dressing contains a moderate amount of Parmesan cheese in it, it is highly recommended that you add a little extra grated or shaved Parmesan cheese to the salad to complete the dish. It has a salty, nutty, and umami flavor which I love and look forward to eating. I have always found that it enhances everything around it in a positive way.

I am generally in favor of buying store-bought shortcuts over making your own, but in this case, I would argue that a quick batch of homemade croutons is worth the extra time and effort. To make a batch, all you need is a baguette, olive oil, garlic salt and black pepper, as well as about 5 more minutes of preparation time. So delicious! There are also other types of bread that you can use if you prefer, such as sourdough or ciabatta.
