Designed to be a similar dessert to Hawaiian hula pies, Tasty’s version of the Hawaiian dessert is a chocolate cookie crust sandwiched between coffee-flavored ice cream and macadamia nuts.
With a ceramic bowl and softened ice cream, they freeze the ice cream into dome-shaped domes, then invert them onto the crust to create a dessert that is as delicious as it is tall!
The whole thing is topped with a chocolatey fudge sauce and served with homemade whipped cream and even more toasted macadamias for extra crunch! For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients, and the recipe shown in the above video will give you a pie that serves 6:
- Chocolate sandwich cookies
- Unsalted butter, divided
- Coffee ice cream
- Unsalted macadamia nuts, roasted and roughly chopped, divided
- Nonstick cooking spray, for greasing
- Heavy cream, divided
- Light corn syrup
- Dark brown sugar
- Cocoa powder
- Kosher salt
- Semisweet baking chocolate chips
- Vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar
Although the ingredients list is somewhat extensive, the end result (the finished pie) is very well worth the result and we hope you give this one a try!
